NARS’ first flagship boutique opened its doors last month in the West Village in New York City.
The boutique was designed by NARS Founder & Creative Director François Nars in collaboration with Fabien Baron, François’ longtime friend and founder of the regarded creative agency Baron & Baron. The film, directed by Rob Kassabian, documents the boutique’s build-out by capturing footage taken throughout the three months it took to construct.
The space, inspired by vintage Parisian and New York residences, fuses elements of modernity and artistry with the sense of a personal space that feels inviting and uniquely NARS. Louis XVI-style moldings, distressed dark hardwood floors and a fireplace, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The black and white color scheme echoes the brand’s signature packaging, and pops of red echo Jungle Red Lipstick, one of Nars’ first 12 lipsticks.
